Key information for MindPlus Teachers
Here are some of the key resources you may need as a teacher working with MindPlus
MindPlus PreSchool is a programme for gifted children aged 2-6 and their parents or caregivers. Up to 10 children and their parents/caregivers come together with a specialist teacher for 2½ hours during the week or on a Saturday morning. Together they engage in stimulating learning experiences and explorations that draw on the children’s individual interests and abilities.
The New Zealand Centre for Gifted Education is a non-profit organisation that operates the MindPlus family of programmes across New Zealand, both face to face and online
At NZCGE we describe a gifted child as one who has innate high abilities in relation to their same-age peers, in one or more domains (intellectual, creative, social, cultural, physical, technological).
Are you seeing kids excelling in some areas but showing big gaps in others? Students who are clearly motivated in their passion areas but who find it hard to engage in classroom work? Talented students struggling to make real world connections? Our MindPlus programmes for 2-13 year olds give gifted kids a space one day a week - online and face-to-face - where they can push their boundaries, share their passions, and be part of a tribe that gets how they tick.
We are committed to operating our MindPlus programmes nationwide in a way that keeps your children safe and learning. To do this we comply with all requirements of the Public Health Orders, the Ministry of Education and our Host Schools.
